EU nationals do not need a residence permit or work permit to stay and work in Slovenia. However, to stay legally, they must arrange for a card - proof of registration of stay. This is the only way to establish your residence and obtain Slovenian resident status. The card itself does not mean you have a registered residence in Slovenia, so don't forget, just register your residence. 

No specific conditions are required for this application, only reason for stay must be justified. For example, employees must have a valid employment contract. For family members, the applicant is required to have sufficient resources to earn a living. A certificate of acquired knowledge of the Slovenian language is not a requirement for this application.
